Pastor's Heart
Where Was I?
That has been the phrase that I have heard the most recently.
It has usually come in conjuction with the remembrance of September 11th, 2001. I have
heard many, many stories from a variety of people. What has been particularly amazing is
the detail in which people remember their being on that significant day. I for one can
remember being at St. Luke's Surgical center in Hammond, LA. Michelle was in the
operating room and I was in prayer for her when someone else in the lobby had made the
comment, "We are under attack." The power of remembrance can be such a
powerful and impactful thing. I know for myself I have several remembrances that I cling
to for motivation and inspiration. Michelle and I marrying is one of the most wonderful.
The birth of our children is another. The Baptism of Joseph is powerful for me because I
had the honor of performing it. The most life altering has to be when I was saved. Let
me ask you, where were you when Christ saved you. When you accepted Him as Lord and
Savior of your life? Can you go into as much detail as you can with 9/11. I want to
challenge you to utilize your remembrances to motivate and inspire you this month. As we
take communion we are told to do this in remembrance of me. I wonder if in fact we are
as compelled to remember exactly what Jesus did for us when we partake in the Eucharist.
I challenge you the next time before you take communion to remember what Christ did for
you with the same passion and ferver that you remembered where you were when 9/11
happened.
Always remember that I love you and remember you in my prayers.
