Pastor's Heart
I have discovered the true beauty of the Fellowship of
Believers. Here at Doyline UMC the fellowship has been
wonderful. Your smiles, hugs, words of encouragement, and
spirit of Christian love has been refreshing. God's word
reminds us of how important the fellowship of believers is for
all Christians. "And they continued steadfastly in the
apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread,
and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many
wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that
believed were together, and had all things common." (Acts
2:42-44) The early Church was under much persecution by
Jewish leadership and Roman politics. They were rejected by
society, friends, and family. Their only place of fellowship
was in the Church. It was through these adversities that the
early Church learned the importance of the Fellowship of
Believers. That fellowship literally became their life-line
and support group.
In the same way the fellowship of Doyline UMC has become my
life-line and support group. With the many stresses of bills,
sicknesses, schooling, and moving I have been able to find a
safe harbor in the turbulent storms of life, the fellowship
of believers at Doyline UMC. I encourage you to rediscover
your life-line, your support group, your fellowship of
believers at Doyline UMC. Until next time may your heart be
strengthened, and your spirit refreshed by our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ.
May God bless you and yours
